If you are trying to get pregnant, and failed couple of times, you might want to check if you have certain medications that supports the risk of infertility. Here are some of the medications you want to avoid
- Steroids such as cortisone and prednisone, which are used to treat conditions such as asthma and lupus, can prevent normal ovulation to occur, but only if you take the medications in high doses.
- Some older antihypertensive medications like Largactil and Aldomet, which are used to control blood pressure, can also interfere with ovulation.
- Any drug that targets the central nervous system such as tranquilizers or seizure prevention medications can affect prolactin and/or the ability of the pituitary gland to promote ovulation
- Avoid skin creams and gels that contain estrogen or progesterone. Although it’s not likely that you’d absorb enough of these hormones through the skin to affect ovulation, it’s best to play it safe.
