Ok we know that your primary ambition is to beat Sharapova on Wimbledon Final, but for those of you tennis freaks, maybe you should read and find out if it is safe to play tennis while pregnant

If you’re a very good tennis player, it is probably safe to play tennis. However, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends avoiding sports with a high contact and falling risk like tennis. One of the concerns with racquet sports such as tennis is that they often involve rapid changes in direction. Rapid directions involves rapid twists and turns which could make you more prone to falling.

Moreover, if you fall you could start bleeding if the placenta detaches from the uterus, or you could begin having contractions. Either event can place the fetus at risk of premature delivery.

So, I think you better not risk the health of your baby and you. Just cut back on tennis first

  • About the Blog

Hi everyone! My name is Maria Dewi (I am a classical pianist, you can see my separate blog about classical music here). This blog is a real life story, sort of like my personal pregnancy and motherhood journal. Everything written in here is based on my own experience thus really happened in true life. I know how blurry it is to have your first baby, so if any of you are first time parents like me, you can just join me with my journey.
